This piece is ready to be quilted. I know how I am going to quilt the letters. Any ideas on the rest?? There are a lot of bulky seams(probably due to my less than stellar paper-piecing skills). I'm kind of scared to get started on this one.
This next piece is the same quilt block pattern I used for the Quiltcon Quilt Block Challenge, designed by me:) I am in love with that green color at the moment:D
This next piece is made using a slice and dice improve method. I love how it turned out. It can be a little tricky getting those lines to line up properly.
This final piece was a no-brainer how to quilt. I just followed the fabric, which I love, BTW!
I am making something specific here. Can you guess what? In order to win Diane's pattern, you had to tell her what you would make with it. She picked my answer:)))))) Now I just hope I live up to it! You never know if things look as good in reality and they do in your head!
BONUS:
I have been blogging for about a year and a half. I have hit the 100 followers mark(currently 109 followers). YET, I have never had a giveaway. Well I think it's high time! So, I'm gonna give away some of my favorite things!!!!
- Clover Wonder Clips-I love these and use them all the time! They are great for binding. No more pins sticking me!!
- OLFA non-slip Frosted Ruler- I love this ruler because the frost makes it easier to see light and dark fabric no matter what color your cutting mat is. I also love the very thin lines on it to make more accurate cutting.
- True Grips non-slip adhesive rings- This will help with the ruler. Although the ruler says non-slip, it does. If you add these rings, or even the dots in the rings, believe me, it ain't going anywhere!
- Clover Seam Ripper- Clover has a few different styled ones. I love this because of the very small blade, and the handle is so comfortable
- Schmetz sharp needles- I just like these best.
All you have to do to win is leave me a comment. You can comment on what you think my project is going to be, or how I should quilt my panels, or what ever else you have to say! I love comments, so comment away! There is no right or wrong answer. Mr. Random Generator will do the picking, as long as I get it to work. That will obviously be a new thing to try for me! To my international blogging friends, you are welcome to join in. Some of you have been the best blogging friends, so please ENTER!!!! I will pick a winner one week from today:)
I'm also linking up to Leah Day today since I finally have some FMQing to show!
Love you green and black block pattern. Very dramatic!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on the milestone! I love the slice and dice block! That is one technique I have not tried, but it is on my list.
ReplyDeleteLove the lollypop flowers. This would make a very cute wall hanging.
ReplyDeleteI love the slice and dice square - I have to try that one. I quess its going to be a quilt - ha. Maybe a tote?
ReplyDelete• • • Looks like a cool placemat to me.
ReplyDeleteI love all of those things too! Thanks for the chance :)
ReplyDeleteYou sure didn't choose something simple for your first paper piecing project - did you? However it looks wonderful! All of your projects are great. I bet that slice and dice was tricky to line up - I'd really like to try that one day. You said it was an improve method - are there directions somewhere? ~Jeanne
ReplyDeleteLove paper piecing. I can get straight and points that match without sweat. Your S looks good.
ReplyDeleteI love all of your blocks! Great colors. I think your project is a seat cushion. Well, at least it looks like it would be comfortable as one. Love, love, love that fabric!
ReplyDeleteI love the slice and dice block!! I will totally have to try something like that! I am impressed that you have over 100 followers in a year and a half! I've been blogging for two years and have just over 20, I think? I think you're more active with other groups and stuff though!
ReplyDeleteI love paper piecing! but have never attempted ABC's, your blog logo looks great! I also enjoy seeing your bags/totes/purses, very cool.

DeleteI'd guess they're panels for a bag. Each and everyone is great, particularly like the quilting following the fabric on the last piece.
ReplyDeleteThose are some of my favourite things to. I've been telling everyone in my modern quilt guild about binding clips and have one of the same clover unpickers that I prefer to use.
Wow, this is truly a generous give away. I enjoy paper piecing, I'm in the process of designing my own block, quite tricky! Congrats reading a 100+ followers.
ReplyDeleteI think you should echo your ABC's to make them stand out. I also enjoy paper piecing and your slice and dice is so bright and cheerful. Thank you for your generous giveaway!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on having over 100 followers. Thank you so much for the chance to win these great sewing products.
ReplyDeleteWell done on the paper piecing! I haven't been brave enough to try it yet. I don't have a clue what it's going to be, but I love the fabric combinations and your pebbles around the flowers!
ReplyDeleteIf that's your first paper piecing project, you're going to end up doing some fantastic work in the future.

I am guessing that its a sewing machine cover.
ReplyDeleteIt's going to be totally amazing. I'd go for straight line quilting, maybe zigzags like your button design.
I love the giveaway too. Thanks for the chance to win xxxx
I love the dice improve method. I always have a hard time keeping the lines straight it is very tricky!!
ReplyDeleteHi Diane, thanks for the heads up on this, we have several shared favourite things there! Unfortunately you're a no-reply blogger, but to answer your question, the bagalong will be on my blog next month :o)
ReplyDeleteGreat giveaway! Love the green and black block and congrats on reaching 200+ followers
ReplyDeleteWonderful giveaway - great examples of blocks and quilting too! Your slice and dice improve method resulted in a great looking piece. Thanks for putting my name in the hat for your drawing.
ReplyDeleteWow! I like the colorful stripes. And I wonder how you get them so exactly in line. Maybe you can make a little tutorial about it? That would be really great.
ReplyDeleteI also use the wonderclips, especially for bindings. You don't get hurt by the needles any more while sewing the last seems.
Love it, particularly the stripes...yes, I also found out that paper piecing can be quite tricky. Dare say, none of my points are lining up in my recent project...
ReplyDeleteGreat giveaway...all I can say ...pick me, pick me, pick me:)
Your paper piecing looks excellent! Especially as a new paper piecer :)
ReplyDeleteJeg er veldig glad i papir søm, blir aldri lei av det! Flott give away, jeg prøver lykken:) Trine/Norway
ReplyDeletePossibly a new header for your site? Looks lovely
ReplyDeleteI love your logo thread and the fonts. Superb.
ReplyDeleteIts always fun to read your blog. Have missed you lately though.
Can't wait to see what else you come up with this year.
Happy Quilting!
Even if this too late for the give-away, I wanted to say that I really love ALL of these blocks. They are wondeful!
