I'M HERE TO INSPIRE AND BE INSPIRED!

Saturday, December 22, 2012

I haven't posted for quite a while. I have been busy. Busy for Christmas. Did I get my Christmas quota done? YES! Here is the last quilt I wanted to get done. Cameron's Zig-Zag quilt.

I used zippling to quilt it. I thought it was appropriate. It's also becoming one of my favorite quilting designs! Don't be surprised if you see a lot of it from me. I finished the quilt last week, but then I started another project.

I made these quilted cuff bracelets for my awesome co-workers! They are a fast and easy gift to whip up unless you have about 20 or so to make:) It took me a while for me to figure out the best way to make them, though. I should also mention that they are reversible! I know the pictures are horrible. I snapped them at work right before I bagged them to pass them out.

I bought a plastic snap kit to make these. HIGHLY ADDICTIVE! The snaps are colorful, fun and easy to apply.

In all the business of making, I haven't decorated my house for Christmas one iota. This is so unlike me. I think with personal problems along with the CT tragedy has left me in a funk that I am unable to snap out of. I'm afraid I have very little Christmas spirit this year.

Anyway, I'm still here. Hope you all have a better holiday than I am.

  1. Hi...yes, have been missing you. Wishing you and your family a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
By the way, checked my Picaso web storage and saw that my storage has gone up to 5000MB. Not aware that they changed anything but hey, I am not complaining. This means I have only used 4 % of the available space. Maybe check it out, you may be alright with your storage after all.

  2. I've been wondering if you got the last quilt done - yeah! The bracelets are neat too - is this your own idea or is there a tutorial somewhere? I understand the funk - I think we've all experienced it especially those of us who do/have worked in schools. We finally decorated a little. Our blizzard this week has helped me for some reason - it is so beautiful out. Hang in there - praying for you. ~Jeanne

    1. Yes and no. I kind of got inspired to make these, so I tried to google them, and yes I found a few. But there were no tutorials so I just figured it out. It wasn't to hard:) I put up one little tree tonight. It will have to do:)

    1. Thank you. It's a little different than all of the chevron quilts but still very easy to put together.

    1. Thanks! A friend I gave one to said she was going to get an old watch face and see it on. I thought that was a cool idea.

  7. Aww Sorry you've had a bummer Christmas. We almost didn't have Christmas up in the house, either. I did manage to get the tree up for the kids coming home from college, and then on Christmas Eve I finally got the desire together to garland one picture window and make a table display. Next year I hope to be different - more motivated - this new house sure would love to have at least 2 trees up so that the walk-in basement is festive, too. One can hope!

P.S. That zigzag quilt is gorgeous!
