I got my Greek Cross quilt top finished last night, or rather, very early this morning. I got in the zone and was not stopping until it was finished. Anyone else ever pull an all nighter in the name of quilting?
I used my most prized fabrics including DS, Heather Bialey, Anna Marie Horner, Amy Butler, and Tula Pink. They all look so good together!
I have one leftover block which I think I will incorporate in the back.
I'm linking up with Leah Day for UFO Sunday.
You all have a great day. It looks like a beautiful one outside!!
I've never pulled an all nighter, maybe I should. I doubt that I can sew straight after long hours of sewing. I love your colours. It really looks nice!
ReplyDeleteI had to make myself stop! I wanted to continue on and work on the backing, but I knew I was to tired and probably wouldn't get measurements right at that point!
DeleteYour quilt looks great--love that Greek Cross block!
ReplyDeleteThanks! Its a really easy one too!
DeleteYour quilt is a beautiful colour love the fabrics! Glad it's nice weather for you been chucking it down for days in north west uk :) good for staying in and quilting x
ReplyDeleteThank you! I was on vacation all last week and I couldn't have picked a better week weatherwise;)
DeleteLove the bold cross blocks, it really makes the prints stand out. I have definitely stayed up until 2-3 in the morning to sew :)
ReplyDeleteI stayed up until 6:30! got a lot done, but I paid for it today!
DeleteI love this - the crosses really pop on that background. Can't wait to see what beautiful quilting pattern you use! Have I pulled an all nighter - hmmm, I used to accomplish things in marathon style - sew for 3 days and nights straight or cook for 2 days and nights straight... It was a weird life style but it worked! ~Jeanne
ReplyDeleteI tend to do the marathon style sometimes too! It's been a while since I did an all nighter though. I got a late start! I'm still thinking on the quilting, but I have the back to make first anyway!
DeleteYep, also a night owl, however never actually sewed through the whole night, just stay up really late. Quilt looks great and I am happy to hear that somebody else just throws things together at the end. That is exactly how I operate. Looks absolutely lovely
ReplyDeletehaha! My lazy gene kicks in here and there.
DeleteI love the Greek Cross! So simple, yet elegant!
ReplyDeleteI know! It is my favorite Craftsy block. I just had to do a whole quilt.

ReplyDeleteLooks awesome!
DeleteQuite a few times I've pulled all nighter. That's when I'm most productive and my creative energy flows through ;).
Lately though I haven't been able to stay up too late and my quilting projects have almost come to an halt. Waking up really early since September when my daughter started going to KG, doesn't help :-(.
I'v never pulled an all-nighter; I don't do ANYTHING well when I'm tired, so I'd be terrified to quilt or sew. Mom always said "you don't cut when you're tired," but I've also found that I shouldn't do anything else. Your quilt looks great!
ReplyDeleteI was ok until I got done. Then it hit me like a ton of bricks
DeleteVery nice! Those all look great together, and I'm a sucker for quilts a background color that ISN'T white LOL!
ReplyDeleteAnything white at my house is a no no. Between the kids and the hard water...geesh
DeleteVery pretty! I'm a night owl by nature... and will definitely sew until the wee hours when I'm really enjoying a project. When I get on a roll I like to take advantage :-D.
ReplyDeleteYEP!;)
