UFO Sunday's

I can finally concentrate on my UFO's! I got my friendship quilt done for the Friendship Quilt Blog Hop today, so I feel like it's OK to go back to my UFO's. And yes, that is a big HINT to check it out starting Sept.3 ;) ;)

Just a few months ago, I was bragging how I didn't have any.
But now I have 2.

My Wonky Star quilt.....or

My Greek Cross quilt.Ok, I have 4 if you count the Craftsy BOM and My FMQQAYG quilt...but they are WIP's  that.........oh, OK their UFO's too :/

And trust me, after I get these finished, I will not have UFO's anymore. It seriously stresses me out! I) don't like having them(UFO's) because I feel like I will be redoing work I have already worked so hard on, like ironing. Luckily, on these projects, they are still in the block stage, and I have kept them neatly in a drawer.

My sewing room, however, is not so neat at the moment, so I may have to tidy up first. And then, I have a decision to make. Which one to do first?

I am excited to get these projects back underway and eliminate my UFO's! No more for me!!!

  2. I love your blocks, especially the Greek stars. That's such a pretty background color.

Having UFOs stresses me out too. Right now I'm in actively working on three quilts, and I'm going to start a wall hanging soon for a guild challenge. I also have one more UFO that is just bugging me. I hate having too many things going on!

  3. Clean first, sew second. I know it doesn't seem like fun, but every time I try to sew first in a messy room, I end up losing everything and spending half the day looking for scissors!

Good luck with your 2, er, 4 projects!

    Cheers,

    Leah

    1. Tomorrow I will get to it!! It needs it! This last sewing session I could not find a darn thing! My husband came in to talk to me and I asked him if he has seen my purple magnetic dish with my pins on it(I was trying to describe it to him). he said" You mean that thing right there?".....duh, it was right in front of me..LOL

  4. Danielle, the wonky stars are terrific. Can't wait for the reveal of the finished project! I also love the Greek crosses. Beautiful colors.

I can only work on project at a time. ADD kicks in if I try to manage more than one project. My stash has many quilts to be made, but I faithfully work on only one at a time.

Leah makes a great point above. I have to start with a clean slate every day, otherwise I get distracted.

    1. Thanks! I REALLY think I am have undiagnosed ADD. They didn't really recognize it to much in the 80's. At least I don't remember hearing much about it. It goes both ways for me. I really NEED to stay on track and finish, or I get anxious. At the same time, I get bored easily, so It's easy for me to lose interest. Especially when I see something new that inspires me.

  5. I LOVE sewing in a clean room. I tolerate sewing in a messy room, but it just feels so much better when it's all organized and I can find things right away. Love you wonky star quilt, can't wait to see it finished.

  7. I love the blue in that wonky star! Wonky stars look like a lot of fun; I want to do a quilt with them one of these days, but it's hard to justify starting one with the UFOs I have lying around!

I have another UFO that has very finicky fussy-cut stars....I wonder if I could modify the design to mix and match some wonky and some fussy. Or just go wonky and put the few fussy ones in a wall hanging....hmmm.......
